2024 Summer slam registration opens up on tuesday, may 7th

SUMMER SLAM LEAGUES

An inclusive, recreational, and developmentally focused seven-week experience for boys, girls, and young adults. Youth leagues will feature one skill sessions and one game per week. The 2024 Season will be hosted between West Richmond Community Centre (9180 No. 1 Road) and Hugh Boyd Secondary School (9200 No. 1 Road)

Elementary-aged programs will take place on Monday and Wednesday nights for a one-hour session between 3:30PM and 8:30PM. High School-aged programs will take place Tuesday and Thursday nights for an one-hour session between 3:30PM and 8:30PM. Grades K/1/2/3 will take place on Friday nights, and will be skill-based practice sessions where basketball and movement fundamentals will take priority over gameplay.

For Young adults: New this year!

Want to make connections and play the game in a fun environment? Register for our brand new young adult men’s league.

For ages 17-25. This league will take place on Friday nights for a one hour game session between 6:00PM and 9:00PM.

Like all of our leagues, our goal is to have balanced teams playing in competitive games. To ensure this happens we will continue the Summer Slam policy of allowing participants two teammate requests, which are not guaranteed to be accommodated,.

2024 PRICING BASED OFF OF:

  • Number of sessions

  • Grade 9-11 and young adults divisions will have referees trained by Basketball BC.

IMPORTANT LOCATION NOTICE:

Each registrant will receive location confirmation prior to the start of the program through email and our website.

ALL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE

  • A Summer Slam t-shirt or jersey.

  • Modified rules (EG: equal playing time) to ensure equal playing time and optimal development for each athlete.

  • Developmentally-appropriate coaching from age-specific trained coaches.

2024 FINE PRINT

  • Registration will be based on September 2024 Grade level.

  • Registration Opens on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 @ 9:00PM, and will close on Sunday, June 23, 2024 @ 5:00PM. Families can continue to waitlist their child past that date, and the Summer Slam administrative team will monitor the waitlist past June 23, and connect with parents accordingly regarding late registration as space permits.

  • Photo release forms will be distributed on the first day for parent/guardians to sign as photos and video will be regularly taken throughout the summer
