Summer Slam Leader I & II (BASKETBALL CAMP COACh)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

·         Set up facility/equipment for safe and efficient operations.

·         Be able to adapt to program specific rules and regulations.

·         Communicate with participants, staff and parents.

·         Communicate with parents, coaches, participants, staff and volunteers.

·         Special event support as needed.

·         Execution of camp practice plans. 

·         Knowledge of the sport of basketball and the game’s regulations.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Grade 11 plus 200+ hours of experience working with children or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Emergency Child Care First Aid or Standard First Aid and CPR Level B (or higher).

·         Successful candidates will be required to complete a police information check.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Reasonable physical condition to be able to work extended periods of time on his/her feet.

·         Coaching and leadership experience.

·         Ability to speak a second language.

 

HOURS OF WORK:

·         23 hours/week for 7 weeks (July/August).

·         Primarily morning and afternoon work is required.

·         $14.39-16.30/hour depending on experience

 

The successful candidates will be responsible coaching camps in the West Richmond Summer Slam program. The individual will liaise with the program coordinator, coaches, parents, volunteers, staff and related service providers in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the camps.

Summer Slam Basketball Official

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

·         Officiating youth basketball according to general rules of the sport.

·         Be able to adapt to program specific rules and regulations.

·         Communicate with participants, staff and parents.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Completion of Grade 9 plus 50+ hours of experience working or volunteering with children, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

·         Attend an in-house three hour officiating clinic.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Emergency Child Care First Aid or Standard First Aid and CPR Level B (or higher).

·         Reasonable physical condition to be able to work extended periods of time on his/her feet.

·         Coaching and leadership experience.

 

HOURS OF WORK:

·         16 hours/week for 7 weeks (July/August).

·         Primarily late afternoon and evening work is required.

·         $13.08/hour.

  

The successful candidates will be responsible for officiating games in the West Richmond Summer Slam program. The individual will liaise with the program coordinator, coaches, parents, volunteers, staff and related service providers in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the league.
